Precious Babies - the book

At last, the cover is ready and it's just a few months until the book will be here in October. Precious Babies is the book I desperately wanted to read when I was pregnant - and in the early days of parenthood.

When you've longed for a baby for years, you've had plenty of time to imagine how wonderful life would be the moment you got pregnant, but are unlikely to have allowed yourself to think about the realities and all the worries and concerns that come the moment you discover you are expecting a baby.

In the early days of being a parent, you are likely to have huge expectations of yourself which can be very hard to live up to - and you may find it hard to admit that life with a baby or small child is ever anything less than idyllic. For those of us who have conceived after fertility problems, there are many different issues that can arise - and yet they are generally unrecognised and unacknowledged.

I hope that Precious Babies will be a source of comfort and support to anyone who is expecting their own precious baby - or who is a new parent. It covers many aspects of parenting after fertility problems including miscarriage, multiple pregnancy and birth, donor families, trying for another baby and having an only child. It follows the journey from the moment of the positive pregnancy test to the teenage years and beyond, ending with the views of some grown-up precious babies themselves.

If you want to know more, Precious Babies is now available to pre-order on Amazon
